The Marshall Mathers LP sold 1.76 million copies in its first week in the U.S. - At the time, the fastest-selling solo rap album in history. Eminem won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" (from the 2002 film "8 Mile"), becoming the first rap artist to win the Oscar in that category.
